Bratislava in 10 Cupcake Steps

1) Any Bratislava tour should start from Bratislava Castle!
As the main symbol of the city, it overlooks the Danube city.
Take a short-walk in its garden and enjoy the view of both the city and the river.

2) Bratislava is a small city that can be explored easily by foot.
Yet, there is a mini-red train option for the lazy travelers:)
I came across the mini-red train that stops at many parts of the city.

3) Churches and Cathedrals are scattered all around the city.
My favorite has been the impressive Gothic Cathedral of St Martin (in the last pic).
Its green-gold tower is easily seen from far away.

4) The Main Square has been the place where I hanged out most of my time in Bratislava.
This is a small but charming square where Renaissance Roland Fountain stands in the center.
Loved the outdoor cafes and souvenir stalls there.

5) For me, the Cupcake place of the Bratislava has been the Old Town Hall.
Currently, Old Town Hall has been used as city archive and municipal museum.
This is a compound of buildings with different architectural styles.
I particularly liked the colorful tiles of the buildings as well as the Renaissance courtyard.
And they have the most stylish benchs ever :)
In the courtyard, you can also buy traditional crafts of Slovakia.

6) Primate`s Palace was the Head of Catholic Church of Hungary in the past.
Currently, this neo-classical Palace is a museum.
Its pink color is so inspiring.
And the fountain in its garden is the right place to relax.

7) Michael`s Gate is the only city gate that has been preserved since the medieval times.
Today, gate serves as a passage through the luxurious shops and outdoor cafes.

8) In Bratislava, follow the tiny narrow streets which are always full with surprises.
Sometimes, they will take you to the cute cafes and sometimes to the street musicians.

9) Stop at a traditional Slovakian Restaurant !
This time, all of our lunchs and dinners were prearranged so could not taste the real Slovakian food.
Yet, local food is  mix of Viennese, Hungarian and Bohemian kitchens.

10) Eat at the Three Musketeers (in Slovakian language: Traja Musketieri)
Despite the food we served was mostly international, I loved the atmosphere of this local cellar restaurant.
Plus, the waitresses were serving with their local costumes.
And I really loved the clay pots and dishes they used for serving.
This medieval atmosphere is a must experience while in Bratislava!

Its address is : Sladkovicova 7, Bratislava
