The Inspiration T(H)REE

Each Wednesday -on the 3rd day of week- I share 3 inspirational photos.

Those might be the photos of food, fashion, people, art or any view from my window...

My aim is to create an inspiration tree for the week.

Let those photos inspire us to make
- our lives more colorful,
- our week more stress-free,
- our selves more productive, happy and full of love.

This week, the inspiration comes from my passion for opera.
Last Saturday, we went to an outdoor opera event at the Millennium Park in Chicago.
Not only we listened great opera songs but also picnicked, enjoying the last summer nights of Chicago.

Let`s see the world as a big CUPCAKE;)

1) Jay Pritzker Pavillion at the Millennium Park
has an amazing sound system that allows you to enjoy Lyric Opera`s performance
wherever you picnic at the park

2) We had everything we needed on the grass to enjoy a great selection of Opera Classics including
Verdi`s `Va Pansiero` and entire fourth act of Bizet`s `Carmen`
Great food and wine (which I opted out this time due to pregnancy)

3) On our picnic towel, you can see what I am craving for recently:)

Trader Joe`s triple cream cheese, sea salt caramels (sweet and sour but more than yummy) and grapes

Have a Cupcake inspired Wednesday !!!

New Year`s Eve in Zagreb

Do you have any plans for the New Year`s Eve?
I have not yet planned anything special for the NYE.
Last year, we were in Zagreb, Croatia and had lots of fun.
Here are some pictures to inspire you for the NYE.

2011 ice cube has almost melted. Are you ready for 2012?

Let`s start with some holiday window displays from Zagreb.
Loved colorful holiday window displays and decorations.
Zagreb is full with small art galleries.
And they have lovely fashion-inspired window displays.

I cannot imagine  winter without outdoor ice skating.
Ice skating has been a family tradition in Europe during Christmas and NYE.
In Zagreb, ice skating rink is located at the main square of ban Josip Jelacic.
This place is a must to feel the joy of new year.

Not only shops, but also houses were decorated for the New Year`s Eve.
We loved the  houses decorated with lights.
Old town in Zagreb was more than ready;)

Our 2011 celebrations started at the Hemingway Lounge.

According to Zagreb Guide, this place is a popular hangout address for cool and stylish people in Zagreb.
We stopped here for a cocktail before the NYE Party.
We picked Hemingway Lounge because it`s just across the Opera House.

And I loved the gold decoration elements at the Hemingway Lounge.

Here you can see the Opera House from the Hemingway Lounge`s window.

We attended NYE Party organized by Croat National TV at the Opera House.
My followers would remember that how I love Opera.
Zagreb National Theater has an amazing architecture.
Loved the stunning ceiling paintings.
First, we watched `the Bat` operetta.
Then, we had champagne for the new year;)

After the party at the Opera House, we walked to the main square ban Josip Jelacic.
All the streets in Zagreb were lighted and glittered.

At the main square, there was a live rock concert by popular Croatian bands.
Of course, we knew none of them;)
But the spirit around us were great. So we had lots of fun!
We counted down to New Year by dancing with crowds in Zagreb.

The weather was cold. We kept ourselves warm with mulled wine.
And sometimes we kept refuge at VinoGrad. A great wine bar at the main square.

And the next day, we woke up to a White Zagreb.
Due to snow, our flight back home was cancelled.
So, my hubby and I had an extra `hotel sweet hotel` day;)
It was so cozy...
Drinking tea, listening piano and playing Fashion Scrabble;)

Makeup Collection

Today, I was planning to write a post on my record collection.
It is a very recent project.
I have only a few records bought from different record stores and flea markets.
And I do not -yet- have a record player so I use my records for decoration purposes.
That`s why I pick records by looking to their covers;)

Then, I remembered that my friend Lila Moonlight tagged me for a post chain to share my makeup products.
So I decided to share both my favorite record in the collection along with my makeup products;)

My record collection started after I came across `Troilus and Cressida` on a flea market in Los Angeles.
I did not even think a minute before buying this one.

`Troilus and Cressida` has been one of my favorite Shakespeare tragedies.

This little angel sitting on the record might be -also- influential on my buying decision;)
A recording angle: watching over us and record all our actions for future judgment day!

Let`s continue with my makeup products.
As a person who does not like doing makeup, I really do not have many products.
In the past, most of my products went to trash since they expired before even using:(
So, now I only have basic cosmetics of neutral tones.

Nowadays, I makeup only if I am required for a special occasion!
You can name the event.
It might be Halloween`s, Presidential dinner or 5 o`clock tea with the Queen;)

Anyway, here is my makeup products.
As you see, they all fit into my 2 Angels bowl;)

This is perfect setting for my makeup ritual;)

PASSING THE FLAG!!!

The idea behind creating a post chain is to pass flag to fellow bloggers.
So, now it`s my turn to kindly tag Lulu`s Life, CottonCandyINK , Rainbow Gatherer , Hello Friday , Rachel`s Symbiotic Life and Fidoland to share their makeup products.
No pressure is attached;)
And if there is any blogger who wants to join post chain, they are more than welcomed!!!

Have a Cupcake sweet day;)
