My Cupcake travel posts continue with Milan.
(You can read my previous Cupcake travel posts on New Orleans, Barcelona, Zagreb, Verona, aix-en-Provence. )
Let`s travel Milan in 10 Cupcake Steps!
Any tour of Milan should definitely start from Duomo.
Every detail of this Gothic Cathedral is worth to see.
FYI! It took six centuries to complete it.
Love the magnificence of Duomo both day and night.
Just across the Duomo, the Galleria - the famous landmark of Milan- stands.
This iron and glass covered building from 19th century houses fancy shops and cafes.
Whenever I visit Milan, I come here to admire the interior design of one of the oldest malls in the world.
Prada`s historic store is also here. But there is the rumor that only tourists shop from here!
Don`t forget to step with one of your heels on the bull (located on the floor of Galleria)
which is supposed to bring good luck;)

Let`s travel Milan in 10 Cupcake Steps!
1) Milan Cathedral (Duomo di Milano)
Any tour of Milan should definitely start from Duomo.
Every detail of this Gothic Cathedral is worth to see.
FYI! It took six centuries to complete it.
Love the magnificence of Duomo both day and night.
2) Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II
Just across the Duomo, the Galleria - the famous landmark of Milan- stands.
This iron and glass covered building from 19th century houses fancy shops and cafes.
Whenever I visit Milan, I come here to admire the interior design of one of the oldest malls in the world.
Prada`s historic store is also here. But there is the rumor that only tourists shop from here!
Don`t forget to step with one of your heels on the bull (located on the floor of Galleria)
which is supposed to bring good luck;)
3) Italian Cafes
For being a coffeeholic, Italian Cafes have always been one of my favorite public spaces.
This time weather was so cold, so I had another excuse to have coffee breaks at various Italian Cafes;)
4) Snow Cupcake Snow
I have been in Milan several times. But this was a first that I experienced it under snow.
Now, it`s official that Milan is one of the cities that snow makes it more beautiful and romantic.
5) Santa Maria delle Grazie
The church of Santa Maria delle Grazie is one of the must-see places in Milan.
The church is included in UNESCO World Heritage List.
But more than that, you can see Leonardo da Vinci`s Last Supper at the refectory of the church.
6) Pinacoteca di Brera (Brera Art Gallery)
Both the architecture and the collection of foremost Italian paintings make Brera Art Gallery a special place for the art lovers.
Visit and enjoy the paintings of Raphael, Caravaggio and many others closely.
If you do remember form my previous post, my favorite is Raphael`s the Marriage of the Virgin.
7) Italian Food
Let the yummy photos speak on behalf of me;)
8) Shopping in Milan
I started shopping spree at the doorsteps of Tom Ford ;)
Despite the cold weather, I did my best to discover the most of the shops in Milan -the shopping capital of the world-.
Milan`s designer boutiques are located in a square called the Quadrilatero d`Oro (Rectangle of Gold).
And Via della Spiga has been my favorite place for windowshopping!
9) Aperitivo Time in Milan
Aperitivo is a Milanese tradition of happy hour.
After a long day of work (or in my case shopping), Italians have drink and finger food at the bars just before the dinner.
Enjoying my Spritz (sparkling prosecco wine) in a Milanese bar decorated with cozy wall paintings is priceless...
10) Navigli
Navigli area is the place where you can have a Venice experience in Milan.
Navigli is so lively where you can find great hip designer shops, art galleries, trattorias and clubs on both sides of the canals.
In the summer, you can also have a boat tour at the canals.
Yet, the canals were frozen when I was there.
So, this time I just went there to taste the yummy Cupcakes of That`s Bakery.
Have a Cupcake sweet day !!!
