Cupcake Cuma

Uzun bir aradan sonra merhaba Cupcake`ler...
Bloga yazmayali tam 22 gun olmus. Twitter ve instagramdan iletisim halinde olsak da yorumlarinizi ozlemisim...
Umarim siz de beni ozlemissinizdir!!!

Son 3 hafta icerisinde sadece is ve ev degil ayni zamanda ulke de degistirince bloga zaman ayiramadim malesef.
Her ne kadar eski sehrim Chicagoya tasinsam da, ev bul yerles, sigorta, vergi islemlerini hallet, yeni ise alis, ders programini sunumlari hazirla derken haftalar gecti.

Sonunda bugun evime internet de bagladim. Evet tamamen ben bagladim:) Eve modemi, kablolari, gerekli bilgileri gonderiyorlar sen hallediyorsun.
Artik bloga yazmamak icin bahanem kalmadi:)

Is yogunlugu nedeniyle eskisi kadar yazamasam da Cupcake Carsamba yazilarini aksatmamaya calisacagim!

Love is in the Air @ Milan

Happy St Valentine`s Day !!!

Although I am against the idea of commercialization of love,
I am happy to find another occasion to declare my love and open my heart to the loved ones.

St Valentine`s Day is a great opportunity to remember the loved ones (both romantic and familial) who make our lives more meaningful and joyful.

Milan is not the capital of Love; but it is the capital of Fashion.
Since we all love Fashion, I wanted to share some photos from my recent trip to Milan.

Milan was ready for the St Valentine`s day.
I tried to capture shop windows as long as the weather permitted me.
It was -10 in Milan. Unbelievably freezing.
So, I usually took refuge in Italian Cafes and art galleries.

But here are some heart-themed shop windows from Milan`s fashion mecca Quadrilatero d`Oro (Rectangle of Gold).

Let`s start with a tribute to my love of Cupcakes ;)

Dolce & Gabbana windows were full with Love padlocks symbolizing everlasting love.
Those padlocks reminded me Juliet`s house in Verona.

Moschino`s pink heart-shaped windows has been one of my favorites.

As usual, Prada`s windows has been simple and classy.
Instead of heart-shaped theme, there were lips (kiss kiss) at Prada displays.

Loved this heart-shaped dart.
This seems so perfect for Eros` love arrows. Is not it ???

Walks between Snowflakes

For the last couple of the days, it was snowing in Ankara.
Love watching snowflakes falling down.
To enjoy snowflakes more, I walked to the cul-de-sac in our neighbourhood.
You might remember it from my `walk in the raindrops` post in the autumn.

Son birkac gundur Ankarada kar vardi.
Kar tanelerinin yere dusmesini izlemeye bayilirim.
Kar tanelerinin keyfini cikarmak icin, sabah semtimizdeki cikmaz sokaga yurudum.
Bu cikmaz sokagi yagmurlu bir gunde nasil kesfettigimi hatirliyorsunuzdur.
Gizli patikam kar yagdiginda nasil gozukuyormus merak ediyor musunuz???

Our Christmas Tree is Cupcake Ready!

Finally, our Christmas Tree is Cupcake ready!

This year, we created a Nordic corner with red, white and wooden elements.

The red Christmas tree and mini reindeer are from IKEA.

And the rest of the ornaments reflects our travel memories.

Love using small candles to lighten up Christmas tree

Holy Mary and the baby figure is one of my favorites.

I found this at the Crafts Market in Buda Castle in Budapest.

Nature themed Christmas ornaments are from Chicago.

Snowman joined in our family last year in Sarajevo.

How I could forget putting milk and ginger bread cookies out for Santa;)

The Nordic corner welcomes our guests as they set foot in our Cupcake home ;)

I have been a true fan of Sarah Jessica Parker`s style
since the first episode of Sex and the City.
I am sure that you have read enough on her fashion taste.
But what about her decoration style???

At home, she prefers simple and light elements. And comfort is essential.
